You're in good company.

The majority of adults in the United States are afraid in open water (64%) according to a 1998 Gallup Poll. Forty-six percent are afraid in deep water in pools. Thirty-nine percent are afraid to put their heads under water. And you thought you were the only one.

MSI is a unique swim school

Our starting premise is that students must be in control in order to learn. They must be in control in water to learn to swim.

We teach the 5 steps of being in control.

We work only with adults, and only afraid adults and those new to swimming: those who wish to know how the water works. You can't learn to swim until you know how the water works. Our method is applicable to any topic and any age.

Our approach: feeling safe in water must precede learning strokes. Otherwise, you won't feel safe in deep water even if you know strokes.

Our goal: that each student be able to rest comfortably in water and move from here to there with ease and confidence, shallow or deep

Our definition of swimming is oneness with the water.

Though it's important for instructors to be kind and to be gentle, it's also essential that they be trained in how to work with afraid students. This is different from the training traditional instructors received. We have taught 14 instructors worldwide. That is where you can learn to be in control in water and learn to swim the most fun, easy, and efficient (quick) way.

We'll know we're finished when preventable drowning has been reduced to zero worldwide.

MSI has been teaching adults exclusively with its new method—truly a breakthrough in teaching—since 1983. Our students called it a miracle so often that we named our classes Miracle Swimming.
